The Center for Journalism and Democracy- Social Media Management
During the Spring of 2024, I interned with the Center for Journalism and Democracy, a first-of-its-kind academic institution on the campus of Howard University that is dedicated to providing funding and opportunities. This center works to support pro-democracy and truth-seeking journalists through grants, training, and online resources. As an intern, I designed graphics and posts to promote the CJD’s mission and increase engagement on social media. Below is a small portfolio of my work:
1619: College Edition- Writer
In the Fall of 2023, I contributed as a writer on a podcast in collaboration with Spotify’s Next Gen Campaign. As a class, we produced 3 episodes of 1619: The College Edition, a dynamic podcast series where Howard University students apply their unique lens to what they learned from studying the 1619 Project and make surprising, compelling, and critical connections to the ways that slavery still impacts their lives and ours. My episode, “Queer Seminar” highlights the contributions of the Black Queer community and the death of O’Shae Sibley. Take a listen:
SavageXFenty Brand Ambassador
I have had the opportunity to represent many different brands on my social media as an influencer/brand ambassador. While in this role, I create engaging content for my audience that promotes the brand I am working with. I created video and photoshoot concepts to help support the brand’s newest clothing drops. Here is some work I did for Rihanna’s clothing line, SavageXFenty:
CNN News Reel
During my time as a Newsroom Editorial Intern, I had the opportunity to utilize the resources at the CNN Headquarters in Atlanta to produce and anchor my own newsreel. This reel includes a breaking news segment, political beat, feature story, and readers. In this reel, I covered the Cop City Atlanta story, wildfires in Greece, and a nail salon robbery gone wrong. Artists N Da Streetz- Radio Show/Podcast
Artists N Da Streetz was a radio show airing on Streetz 99. 3 hosted and produced by myself, Trinity Alana. This show served as a platform to discuss the musical journey of rising artists, especially those in the Nashville area. You can check out my latest interview below and watch more on my YouTube channel! Artists N Da Streetz aired every Saturday at 1 pm EST on the Streetz 99.3 app.
Let’s Rawrr with Southern University and A&M College
“Let’s Rawrr” is an interactive talk show made by the students at Southern University for the students at Southern University. I served as host, producer, director, and writer of Let’s Rawrr. During my time working on it, the show served as a source of entertainment and news for Southern University students. Let’s Rawrr started as a weekly Instagram Live show and quickly transitioned to a 30-minute-long talk show with special guests and a live audience. Though I no longer work with Let’s Rawrr, take a look below at the two episodes we were able to produce!
